In addition to career training, Charleston Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.
GED/High School Diploma
One of our top goals at Charleston Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Charleston are automatically enrolled into our GED/high school program. Students who complete this program's core classes may participate in an online high school diploma program which is paid for by the center.
We offer our students opportunities for college education available at West Virginia State University.
